I, I want get out, I want to say a prayer for my dying nation I, I want to find my place not to hide in this lying nation You, you on theft, you on the right Why can’t we meet in the middle You, you on the right, you on the left Don’t let this be our nation’s curtain Welcome to the Show Welcome to the Show Welcome to the Shit Show

The weight of the world, the weight of a girl, I don’t want to be a freedom fighter It’s not up to him, pour me a gin, I just want to think on my own problems Hey Ho, Joey says let’s go Hey High, I just want to fly Down on the ground, tripping around, how can a sunrise seem so repelling I want a pearl, give me a swirl, anything to make this light seem lighter Beg me come inside In you we will hide Cover it up, my loving cup, in the shade of a hanging tree As simple as this, the feel of a kiss, I don’t want to be a freedom fighter Leave me this one song

Come on Boys 05:18
Come on boys it’s time to go home You may think it’s only four in the morning But my mother’s gonna tell me The last time was my last warning I love you boys and you love me But I’ve got a girlfriend I want to see And it’s up to my mother if I stay at home Or walk free You two you know you’re my crew And you know I blew my curfew But it still matters there are degrees I’ve got a girlfriend I want to see and it’s up to my mother if I walk free Come on boys I need some cash You know I can’t afford to pay for gas And help me look for a yard with a hose The radiator is about to blow I love you boys and you love me Help me save myself from misery I’ve got a girlfriend I want to see And it’s up to my mother if I walk free

Pure 02:34
Please wake up Last night we said too much And I think We could have done with much less to Drink and been More sure about being so Un——-pure You took What I took for granted Now I’ll look For what I have to give and Keep of me What I want to be so Pure

There’s no way out of this Why did I fall into this mess With all the songs I had to sing I still chose the darkness of a drink Nothing grand, nothing brave Nothing grand, nothing brave When Johnny struck up the band I had a glass of whisky in my hand I don’t remember when I did The things that you could not forgive Black eyes and promises Broken as I hastened down the wind Anytime I had a song My friends and I would play it all night long Even in my darkest streaks I could write a song I knew would speak I was excitable I lived each day like it was the last Then vanished in a blackout spree But don’t say poor poor pitiful me

When the sun hits the water Vapor swirls and rises Evaporation action In the air They used to be together Like brothers none the wiser Discovery happens almost Everywhere Then came the girlfriends The wine, wives, and children Happy was the way the spent Lives All minds tend to wander And hearts travel their way Once brothers they left their garden all Alone Their friendships drifted outward Like a stream to the sun Like an untended garden that gets Away Maybe when they’re older They’ll pass on a pathway And remember when together they were Friends Untended garden

We need to play like there’s no tomorrow Play until there’s blood on the drums Because there may not be a tomorrow It may all go up in flames We need to hit that drum like there’s no tomorrow Beat that drum to a volcano red Because there may not be a tomorrow It may all go up in flames

I just want to hit the road This place no longer feels like home I used to like to listen to the radio But no more it brings me down, I just can’t seem to come Around Orange toxic cloud Miasmic, ghoulish crowd All I want is to have my town again No peace out here on the road Circling to find my way home I still cannot listen to the radio One day I’ll turn it on, nothing gained from getting Drowned In this poison cloud Try to make the best of the situation Only four years of an occupation

Cowboy Buck 05:45
You see him every day at the store You see him coming back for more Sporting his new black cowboy hat In his sunglasses he’s a real western cat He grew up stomping mud on the farm Free range roaming never did him no harm But Daddy sold the land for a ton And Daddy’s money is all he’s won Talk with me, walk with me, wave to me Cause I’ve got nothing to do Talk with me, walk with me, wave to me Cause I’ve got nothing, nothing, nothing to do He used to rope cows in the pen He knew every cock and every hen Now he wrangles shopping carts in the lot Corrals them back to the right spot He’s got money and he’s got time You’ve got to wonder if he thinks this is fine Did he like mending fences and herding cows In the lot he never takes a bow He’s Cowboy Buck this is his life Did he wish his Daddy didn’t have a price That his pasture wasn’t a parking lot Or does he love this land that he’s got

Our song is not a precious one Not a precious one my fellow grumps Our song is not a precious one It ends in a bloody stump As I watch the evening redness ascend in the west My Darling Carmalita I send you my best There is no such joy in the tavern as we have on the road thereto A Nacogdoches revival meeting is where I fell into Out there watching with the Glantons, souls through a black and seamless sea Ancient, childlike the judge came dancing, huge and hairless, delicately When the lambs are lost in the mountains, that’s when the mother comes to the cry When the wolf is first in the mountains, that’s the time that we all die Now out in California, put my hand in the grinding wheel You took all I had, but leave my arm for a hook And if I die from the grinding wheel, don’t let this all end in vain Let the bat live and drink my blood, not waste it in the rain

Only in my dreams do I ever go sailing Walking down the stairs I always hold the railing I found a black spot on my soul, the doctor said it was a harmless mole I like to go out to hear the blues But I’ve traded my Docs for orthopedic shoes Reading food labels I am particular, that’s the way to stay perpendicular My wife she is a keeper, together we’ll face the grim reaper Fight as we’re able the actuarial table We’ll take the downs as harmless moles, look for the ups to fill our souls Travel the world as boys and girls together The cars driving by playing music too loud Drowning us out as we’re shouting at clouds In the afternoons we once talked dirty, now we drop it all for the Senior 5:30

Failed dreams, dissembled people Broken lives, lives like our Henry’s, always two steps from, disaster With some rocker Ramona, or Tawny or Tonya, Remarkably unremarkable people Emotional children, but not even that good, such Unprecedented incompetence Unappealing incompetence Ohhhhh When they’re born are good people And their broken lives, we touch and they heal Falling away from heartache With some rocker Ramona, or Tawny or Tonya, Avoidable, unavoidable people We pray for our children against the force Against the curse of unprecedented incompetence Fostering their competence

Butter and honey the biscuits are baking in the oven Otis Redding and John Legend records say love in You say she’s your girlfriend and yes I know you’re my best friend Put away the cans my parents are coming up the walkway That’s no answer to say you used my dad’s ashtray Wait I’m trippin’ my parents are trippin’ to LA You say she’s your girlfriend but we are riding the same wave Nothing should be planned No more juice I need to land Stretched out on the couch I fell asleep my arm around her I’m not a creep I just don’t remember how we got here How ‘bout me and the others scram If you say she’s your girlfriend then she is my best friend’s girlfriend The best nights are never planned Not another hit I need to land

It's Big 03:17
Tony Moran found his life in a can He traveled this land, and rarely gave a damn Tony took shots at getting ahead But it never worked out, and he failed instead But sometimes a vision, a picture so clear Like a gift from above, like a presence so near He’d reach out to grab it like treasure from a king But he was no good at this kind of thing It’s big and it’s bad, coming at you fast Sometimes good, sometimes sad Tonya worked the bars searching for stars And she never gave it up in anyone’s car She’d rather go home and get stoned all alone Than not be a chooser and sleep with a loser On a rare night at the end of her bar A face not so dull, maybe a star She’d linger and lean when she put down his glass Then follow his eyes hoping for class There are nights when we rise and nights when we sink Like Tony and Tonya when she served him his drink Maybe this was Stockton on the edge of downtown Two in the morning there was no one around One was impatient, the other sincere Their choices were many, their signals unclear Tonya tapped her finger on the tip of her tongue Tony took his hand off the butt of his gun

Ba ba bup ba bup ba bup ba bup ba ba Ba ba bup ba bup ba bup ba bup ba ba These are the nine words we must learn to fear like hell I’m from the oligarchy and I’m here to help We will not be ashamed To honor our fathers’ names Ba ba bup ba bup ba bup ba bup ba ba Ba ba bup ba bup ba bup ba bup ba ba Unfurl your banners, get out your hammers, together yell They don’t mind us dying, but we’re not buying their fresh hell Out on the street, we feel the heat from the flowing red Open your windows, come through the door get out of bed Don’t take the back stairs, it’s no excuse that they don’t care Tune out the chatter, turn off the slaughter, bid it well Fascism Fascism American style, truer than the red white and blue Fascism American style, that’s me and you
